ABOUT THE WEBINARS
In partnership with the EQUATOR Network at the University of Oxford, AH Editing hosted a series of four 30-minute webinars to provide health researchers with proven tools for enhancing the quality and impact of their research publications. Practitioners from all areas of health research will learn simple but effective ways to communicate findings in formats appropriate to their target journals.

As part of our commitment to providing quality learning and development opportunities for the academic community in Asia, all 4 webinars are offered here free of charge.


WHO WILL BENEFIT?
The series is primarily geared for anyone who focuses on people in health-related research. This includes all forms of medical research, such as psychology, psychiatry, dentistry, palliative care, primary care and pharmaceutical medicine, as well as public health research. The series is applicable to:

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jennifer De Beyer

Dr. Jennifer de Beyer is a Publication and Dissemination Specialist at the CSM, University of Oxford.

Jennifer completed her BSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology and BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, before reading for a DPhil in Systems Biology at the University of Oxford as a Clarendon and Commonwealth Scholar. After leaving laboratory research she moved to her present post as Publication and Dissemination Specialist at the Centre for Statistics in Medicine (CSM), University of Oxford where she ensures research reaches its full potential through clear and complete writing that targets the right audience. Over the years, Jennifer has accumulated considerable experience in editing, science communication and research administration.

Webinar 1: Introductory Session on Reporting Guidelines for Health Research Writing

Find out why making a clear plan of what and why you want to write before starting helps to speed up writing and cut down on revisions. This webinar will cover defining your intended audience and message, which will help you choose the right medium, journal and article structure. (Watch here)

Webinar 3: Writing a Health Research Paper Using the EQUATOR Reporting Guideline
Learn how reporting guidelines help to ensure that you remember every important detail when writing up a study. We will use the generic EQUATOR guideline, suitable for all study types, as a guide to talk about the basic structure of a health research journal article. (Watch here)

Webinar 4: Ensuring Clarity in Health Research Writing
Good academic writing is short, simple and clear. We will apply these principles to grammatically correct pieces of writing, revealing tricks for cutting words and increasing clarity. (Watch here)
